You might want to file this under "FWIW", but I ran into some gouger information on Eugene Izotov's personal site http://www.oboesolo.com/.
Look in the left-hand sidebar and click on "equipment". He discusses his preferences in reedmaking equipment.
Interestingly, he likes the Nielsen knives (discussed on another thread here very recently.
