My daughter bought an old Loree (1942) for $2500. It was cracked and repaired years ago--and it doesn't crack anymore. It works well for her purposes--youth orchestras, pit orchestras. Perhaps in college she'll need a newer, better one, but for now an old Loree has been much better than having no English horn.
