I picked it up last night and realized the big metal pole on the left-hand side of the top joint was flapping free, screw nowhere in sight on the floor. So this morning I took it to the music dealer from whom I am buying it on time, and a little shoemaker's elf in the back room kindly put in another screw. But, is this going to happen often? Is this something chronic with oboes? Am I supposed to have some kind of screw-tightening routine once a month or something?
Screws never fell off my daughter's clarinet. [she said suspiciously]
