 Cor Anglais thumbplate fitting
Author: Mike Hopkins

I was planning to have a thumbplate fitted to a Lafleur Cor Anglais that I am planning to buy but have just realised that this might be a problem as there is only one automatic octave key at the back. If have to lift the thumb to produce C and Bb so how would I produce those notes in the upper octave? Would I also have to have a 1st Octave Key fitted? I guess I am trying to turn this into a Dual System so I can play it like a normal thumbplate system not conservatoire. Is this going to be possible?
