Just wondering something - do American professional choirs sing with something approaching English pronunciation when singing Handel oratorios, etc. - not as archaic as Received Pronunciation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Rpfek-F8Rw or too folky http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN9AJj9rtlk&feature=related, but something more mid-Atlantic?
I've heard the French seem to like British choirs singing in French as they have clearer diction than French choirs.
And I like this version of Gaudete: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbdPKLHIm0I&feature=related
