Just wondering something - do American professional choirs sing with something approaching English pronunciation when singing Handel oratorios, etc. - not as archaic as Received Pronunciation

or too folky

, but something more mid-Atlantic?
I've heard the French seem to like British choirs singing in French as they have clearer diction than French choirs.
And I like this version of Gaudete:

Former oboe finisher

The opinions I express are my own.
