Brutal stuff! A lot of double reed goings on here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg3BotzB8U4 Anyone know who arranged it?
There's also a more orthodox string arrangement of the carol with a Baroque-style oboe obligato part for the inside verses (and very long phrases for oboe in one breath), though I don't know who the ensemble or soloist is. Here's more info but still can't find the CD listed:
Conductor: Ross Pople
Ensemble: London Festival Orchestra
Record Label: Sony
Catalogue: 82876 885812
My favorite version for voices is by the Tallis Scholars.
Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London

The opinions I express are my own.
