I find that getting started is the hardest part. Once I have a good reed warmed up and I'm playing, I have more energy. But the dread of fighting a lousy reed often keeps me from starting practice when I come home from a long day. I'm wondering whether I should keep a "starter reed" handy just to get me going on those tired days....
