Update: After going through all the steps you mentioned, I called my local "Dr Oboe" and this is where I'm at:
I've adjusted the Eb key screw so that both that note and the C# sound fairly clear; my oboe guru suggested I check the F-resonance key for leak. Things are slightly improved, but not fixed. LH1 has a rather open hole, not a diamond-shaped one (the oboe may date from the 1930s).
The bottom portion of the instrument definiely has a leak somewhere, but I can't find it. Off to the shop I go!?!
PS jhoyla, thanks for all the suggestions.
