Thanks for the info. I doubt he would repair them but like you said, one never knows.
The Opus 1 is a great machine. It's craftsmanship is ingenious and there really isn't any other machine out there like it. Robin is a true genius and the gouger stems from not just an oboe playing perspective but also a machinist perspective. He worked not only with all the old Mack Graf prototypes but also with an old Westinghouse engineer/machinist to come up with the design. How the machine is built is really something else! I've been to his shop outside Pittsburgh many times. A lot of it goes right over my head, but I know enough to know there really isn't any other machine out there like it, especially due to it's ease of use, adjustment and lack of maintenance/sharpening!! He experiments with a lot of different curves so you really need to figure out which one works best for you in the long run.
