That's why I put forward an auto 8ve mechanism with only the one adjusting screw to control the closure of the 1st 8ve vent with LH3 (the clutch on the top left), the design of this auto 8ve mechanism drawing on inspiration from saxes (being a sax player myself, and they have the simplest 8ve mechanisms) and a photo of a piccolo Heckelphone that have such simple and reliable 8ve mechanisms.

This version of the same mechanism (on an XL) has an extra adjusting screw to finely adjust the amount of double action between the back 8ve underlever and the 8ve rocker carrier:

The only way to fit a 2nd 8ve touch on this is to have a bridge key fitted that connects the 2nd 8ve vent to the touchpiece, and a key foot to prevent the key opening too far - so a fair amount of extra mechanism will be involved if that was the case.
