Not Alphons here, but yes. The tradition started from the Stotijn oboe players in the Residentie and Concertgebouw orchestras. Han de Vries, Jan Spronk, Werners Herbers, and more recently players like Bart Schneemann carried on playing Lorees. But of course, many other brands are played as well, but it seems that the way the Dutch school is has a tendency towards the beautiful resonances of good Lorees in the upper register, a kind of singing quality which is associated with how the Dutch make their reeds and play. No stereotyping intended here though, as many people play differently nowadays of course....even though they may come from the very same teacher.
