I would second John Towle's suggestion regarding the Weber 1-B. I started off with a -1N, and then went to a Weber 1-B for 6 months, before finally settling in on a Weber 1-C as my standard shape. I still go back to the Weber 1-B a bit.

Just remember; as Tabuteau insisted (and later Mack, and de Lancie, and many others) the most important thing is not the shape, but the gouge. The shape has to be appropriate to the gouge. If you choose a wider shape, use a gouge that is thicker on the sides. If a narrower shape, a thinner gouge on the sides.
