Great idea. What about using some piano music?( In the keys I know) I've got tons of that.

Interesting that you mention folks listening not just to what they are playing, but the others playing too. That's a pet peeve of mine. I've found that is a common problem in other groups I've played with in the past. It's like they are in their own little world and have no clue that what they are doing may in fact be technically correct but still sounds awful because they are not "with" anyone else, which then ruins the music of the group as a whole.

Perhaps at some point I can locate a teacher. Unfortunately, lessons would have to be only periodical because I truly am in a very rural area and the closest orchestra that might possibly have an accomplished oboist is almost two hours away.
