Looking for a fun bass clarinet solo collection

Does anyone know a nice collection of pieces, whether original compositions or (appropriate) transpositions one could buy for the bass clarinet? Reason being, I'm REALLY lazy which buying sheet music, since you always kind of come across a good piece for practising on the bb/a clarinet; but that really isn't the case with bass clarinet.
Sorry for not being more specific...
For example, I'd love to find a piece that somehow resembles Shostakovich's understanding of the bass clarinet, I simply don't fully get that "kick" with (Bach!) cello transpostions, but they're nice too. Many of the interesting concert band bass clarinet parts also become bland when played in no context (that is, solo, isolated, at home, thanks to covid) Again, sorry, I somehow can't be more specific. Any input would be appreciated

Best regards,
Christian

Go to www.musicscores.com, then log on to the instrument section and click on bass clarinet. I have lots of solo bass clarinet parts from there.

You should have a look at Van Cott music. I believe he has a bass clarinet section and everything on the site is annotated with notes about the piece, which makes it so much easier to pick pieces "blind."

Christian: I composed a piece called "a Bitter Suite"; for soprano clarinet. It's a neo-Baroque Bach-like suite that's jazzy, klezmery, bossa-novish. I think it would work very well on the bass clarinet. I could send it to you if you like. You can contact me at my person e-mail address. I'm not sure whether it's still in print or if its publisher here in Paris still exists.

Solution:

My answer is find it your self. Play pieces for cello, or bassoon, or even operatic arias. Make your own solo collection. There is a world of music out there. Beg, borrow, or steal. Learn to transpose and read different clefs. I used to bemoan the absence of good published bass clarinet music, all packaged up for me. Now I just go steal!

Thanks alot for the advice guys; yeah, I pretty much expected having to transpose from cello/bassoon pieces (or similar); learning the bass clef is doable, but playing it fluently or even sight-reading... man!
@ruben: cool, I‘m happy to check your piece out! Just hit me up with an e-mail.

You might like to consider the Prelude for solo bass clarinet by Ruth Gipps. I’ve recorded it for release next year.

What else is on the release, Peter, and what’s the label?

Really looking forward to that recording, Peter! Thanks for promoting the music of the sadly-neglected Ruth Gipps.

Graham, it’s all Ruth Gipps. Her clarinet chamber music. Including the Sonata, Rhapsody in Eb and Quintet Op. 16. Next year is her centenary.
