Jim - I'm quite well acquainted with the Selmer RI cl having "lucked-on" to one, a VG Full Boehm, which has a different barrel and UJ structure! It plays well, but not as well as my best C T!! A friend gave me a Selmer-Johnston HR mp which has HS in an oval on the table, believe it dates from the mid '30s, OK, but a bit close [for me] . The current IMS catalog [comprehensive!], pg 56, lists their "standard series" of facings with the HS followed by HS* etc, from which order I assume HS to be their least tip-opened mp. It, however, is shown on the [lower] comparison chart as "HS, *," in the "minimum" [below 1.0 mm] location, which I assume means that both are less than 1 mm! Measure it if you able. Others, please help. Don
Thanx, Mark, Don
