Hello everyone!!!
I have a helpful suggestion for water under most pads...especially cork pads. If you take a piece of cigarette paper and scribble pencil on either side of the paper, put it under the oboe pad while storing it. The lead in the pencil helps disolve any particles inside of the vent. This has been shown to me by many different professional oboists as well as clarinetists. It really does work as I had the same problem with one of my octave vents and within a week the problem was completely solved.
Best of luck!
