American bore?
Hmmm... is that by chance like a Loree bore? I know Loree are THE oboe of choice in the US (as Buffets are THE clarinets of choice), but they are still French.
And is the European bore possibly more like a Marigaux?
I had a detailed description of Yamaha's numbering system, mainly the first number denotes the level, the middle number is the bore and the last number is the 8ve mechanism. I think it's kicking around somewhere, but like most bits of instrument literature it could be anywhere.
