i was browsing around looking for something else when i came across a chart with list of various shapers and measurements for tip, belly & throat at roger miller's rom double reeds & cane site, which possibly is more confusing than enlightening, but at least it seems like a starting point of reference, although i notice Gilbert +1 isn't listed
comparing measurements -- some seem like they'd be straighter and others more flared
i presume narrower throats might wrap around tubes easier, so surmise that might reduce cracking (?) and i'm guessing that wider tips and belly might potentially make a slightly richer sound than the thinner ones (?)
