Being that "It is a slightly unusual piece of musical equipment in that it is in the key of C", it appears that it can only play in different modes of the C major scale as opposed to different keys (as our reputable makes can) - so imy favourite mode (as opposed to fave minor key) on this one will have to be the Dorian mode.
So now the oboe is on a level playing field with (Highland) bagpipes, and their (odd) modal renditions of famous tunes - such as 'Shenandoah'.
