Hi Andrew,
I'm so sorry about your house fire. I hope that you were able to
save some of your belongings.
I'm an amateur oboist for about 8 months now. I have received much
help at this board. The professionals and amateurs alike are wonderful
at giving sound advice and showing interest. Some of them will also
give a lesson if it's needed.
Since my experience is limited, I feel that I can't give you advice about
the other double reed instruments. I was surprised to read that you
have to audition for a spot in your community orchestra. There are
no auditions for our community orchestras in our town.
