for those that are members of IDRS (highly, highly recommended, a steal for the annual membership fee), there is access to a video on their website from one of the recent conferences of a full master class by oboist Jan Eberle on various techniques for achieving vibrato...suffice to say, chewy is explicitly ruled out as an acceptable technique!
