No, methylated spirits (denatured alcohol) is ethanol (C2H6O - as in booze) with certain additives that make it unfit for drinking so that it can be sold cheaply for use as a cleaner, solvent, etc without being subject to the heavy taxation imposed on alcoholic beverages.
Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol - C3H8O) is a different type of alcohol.
I don't know how to do subscripts on this compooter thing, so those formulas look rather goofy, but hopefully you will be able to see that the 2 types of alcohol have different chemical compositions.
