Actually, I am not too fond of shapers using shaper tips. Here in Denmark 10-15 years ago everybody used shaper tips. Today the 'unfolded cane' types are increasingly popular, for good reason. Not to say that the Mack shapes can't be used, only the equipment need an update. I did some investigation on the subject a couple of months ago, to find a scientific sound solution to cane shaping equipment. I did a page for those interested: www.oboetube.com/reedshape
