Well basically John Mack (former prinicpal oboist of the Cleveland Orchetra) got together with a man with the name or pfeiffer or something and made this shaper tip to shape cane. That's about it. Now they are massed produced all around and a lot of people use them. I personally use a Caleb by Adam Shaper Tips in Canada. The problem I have with those shapers are that they are inconsistent not all of them are alike because they make soo many of them so you have a much larger chance of getting a shape from the same brand shaper which is totally different. At least that's my problem with the Mack-Pfeiffer tip.
