If you love it, go for it! What does looking pretty have to do with the beauty of the sound, eveness of tone and a great slur to High D? If it plays great and calls to you - it should be yours. But if the crack repairs look bad and really bug you, you can always have someone make the cosmetic clean ups.
That said, also try Carlos Coelho for used instruments. His reputation is also excellent. He also just got in a batch of new Lorees. RDG is great too, but California instrument dealers command higher prices for some reason.
