I always have my reed tilted with the left side up quite a bit. That way, if my reed is overlapped as though I'm looking at the reed with the cork facing down, and the top blade is slid to the right, then the tilt will allow my reed to open up with the natural lip pressure I apply. Most american oboists who overlap their reeds tilt their reed with the left side up as well I believe.
