I've tried both and haven't found them to be different, sound-wise, from the Chudnow cork-wrapped CA oboe staples. Therefore, since for me at least, the sound is not an issue I choose to use the normal CA cork-wrapped staples since:
1) they're cheaper - and therefore I'm more comfortable bending the tube to make an emergency adjustment to the tip opening of a reed
2) both models of metal-with-O-rings staples move around too much in my reed case
I do think the Chudnow CA staples (all models) are very good and are much more consistent than the Glotin staples I used to use. I did notice that the placement of the notes in the high register is slightly lower on the CA staples than the Glotin, overall.
