Do you mean 'beat frequencies'?

As the oboe tone is full of high harmonics, beat frequencies are more obvious when the tuning is slightly out with another player.

One thing I like doing (you do need two players for this) is producing low tones (which are beat frequencies) while both playing high notes (from high A upwards) using certain intervals and detuning unisons.
