The S5 was formerly their top professional model oboe...it doesn't really *stand* for anything, it's just their model designation. You are getting an INCREDIBLY wonderful instrument, with a great scale and lovely tone.
I quite like Rigoutat oboes, but a cracked (however well repaired) instrument from over 40 years ago is probably not going to have as good a scale as a recent instrument. Play the two side by side (one after the other, rather) and test each note with a tuner. Make note of your impressions of each and every note's response, so that you make the soundest possible decision.
