couple of other DIY checks
... is the semi-auto octave mechanism stuck or sticky with fraction of second delayed drop? -- no lint or fine threads or a hair stuck in it? -- may need tiny drops of key oil to loosen up all moving parts of this mechanism
... is the spring under 2nd 8ve key off its hook?
