Hi Judy,
I'm originally from Eugene, and know that it now has even fewer music stores than it once did. I'd say your best bet would be to go up to portland. There's more instruments and opportunities up there. Another person you should look into contacting is Annalisa and Mike Curtis. Mike plays 1st bassoon with the Eugene Symphony and his wife is a longtime oboist (they are the makers of Arundo Reeds). I believe they actually live in Albany or Corvallis, but commute to Eugene. Cheryl would have their phone number since she's in the Orchestra.

Last note of confidential advice: Cheryl tends to play on very "big" reeds, in which the reeds are quite hard to play on. I just finished telling someone on another board that I wouldn't suggest these reeds but Kestrel reeds is also based out of Eugene (http://www.oboe.org/reeds.htm) and although I would strongly not recommend Marsha Taylor as a teacher (she told me I was terrible and would never be anything substantial. I went on to be a successful oboist.) she makes slightly friendlier reeds than Cheryl. She lives in South Eugene around Willamette and 39th or so and you can pick them up from her house. So if Cheryl's reeds are hard for you after several months (all reeds are hard in the beginning), I would suggest you secretly pick up a couple Krestrel reeds.

By the way, did Cheryl change her last name? I noticed a Cheryl "blah blah" mentioned in the Eugene Symphony, but it wasn't "Wefler".
