I wonder what shops in the United States might rent English Horns. I'm particularly interested in the Fox and Howarth instruments. Does anyone rent an instrument beyond the student models?

Walter --
I believe that Forrests, in Berkeley, CA, will do an EH rental of the sort you are thinking about. But I don't think it's cheap.
Marti Hess, at http://www.usedoboes.com used to have couple (a Marigaux and a Loree, if memory serves) for which she could arrange rentals. I don't know if she still does that or not.
What about Brian Charles in Boston?

Hey, Dutchy --
Thanks for the link to MMI. I haven't been on their site for a while, and did not realize they had started offering rentals. Their rental prices are more reasonable than anything else I've seen, and they have a good assortment of things for hire. Kudos to you for finding that!

midwest musical imports rents english horns. i rented a fossati and it was in great condition. it wasn't a professional one, but it still served the purpose of an english horn. they do have pro models of fox, but they are almost always gone, same with forrests. The howarths are student models. good luck.
