I had the wiggly thumbrest thing on my Lorée oboe. I brought it to my repair guy and he glued it to the instrument (I wasn't too sure about the ''gluing stuff to my oboe'' thing, but he assured me it was fine). I haven't had any problems since, and it has been 3 years.
