I don't know that I experience whole passages as difficult as much as I experience certain tones on the oboe as difficult (this could just be from my lack of experience, though).
The "throat tones" (Bb,B, C, C#) are problematic. The C#, for example, often feels like what clarinetists feel on their long clarion B -- impossibly stuffy -- while the C a half-step down tends to shriek. I absolutely HATE pieces where the composer makes the oboist conclude on a descending whole note mid-C!
Many oboes have intonation issues on the high register F and F#, as well, but in my experience those are more manageable than the D-to-C or C#-to-C "break".
