I agree with this diagnosis.
It should only need a quick tweak on the appropriate adjusting screw - but this is a fine adjustment: just a fraction of a turn at a time & remember where you started. I see many instruments in my workshop where screws have been apparently turned at random making the original problem much worse. If in doubt visit a good repairer who should be able to sort it in seconds & probably point out other problems you didn't realise were there!!
