wow chris. I never heard of the names for the grades! how interesting!
My clarinet history was grade 8 only. But my violin history was similar to yours, grade 3, 6, 8.. seemed to me to be a fair number to do. an early one to get used to playing the instrument for the exam. A higher one, and then the highest.
These days i go straight for grade 8! enrolled in June... practise oboe last january, then found i only had time for one instrument, so did clarinet. picked oboe back up in januray this year.. but found a crack in it.. grr.. well.. the rest you read in the other threads!
