I had no problem cutting the tip with knife until my eyes no longer see the small things clearly. So cutting a sliver of the tip straight became very difficult.
I looked for a tip cutter. I could not understand why a simple tip cutter is so expensive: over $200. Recently I came across the name Prestini.

They offered a cheap version ($40) and expensive one ($120). I bought a cheap version. I thought it is about the right price for what it does. It turned out It is as difficult for me to clip a sliver as I would with a knife. I exchanged for an expensive one. I thought it is a bit expensive but comparing to others, it was a steal. It turned out to be pretty good. I just had to make a little mark on the reed holder where to align to the length mark.
I thought some of you might like to know...
