 Cases - should it be wood?

Reading another site today about crack prevention, the article stated "use a wooden instrument case with a heavily insulated case cover..." Currently I am keeping my Loree in a Protec "Oboe Max" case, which is nylon. I've ordered a Humistat humidifier for the case. So, is a non-wood case ok, or should I be using the Loree case in terms of crack prevention? As always, thanks!
