Try Mozart and Haydn symphonies. The parts are not terribly difficult and they are really fun if you are playing along with a recording as you said.
Get yourself the CD-ROM of orchestral parts-I forget what the series is called, but all you need is a printer and you can have first and second parts on your stands.
