Consider a Yamaha YOB-241B (UK spec) isn't all much more than the top price they're listing these OSOs for and with Yamaha, you at least get a much better quality instrument that's better built and finished, has semi-auto 8ves, RH C-D and LH C-C# trill keys, dual system (conservatoire with added thumbplate), low B-C link and low Bb - so a more advanced beginner model than that Chinese thing and much better value for money as well as being an instrument that will hold its value well when it comes to sale or part exchange against a higher spec instrument.

So please don't fall for the Odyssey as it's absolutely the worst value for money oboe ever in the history of the entire planet - there are much better buys out there both new and used. You can get the same spec oboe as the Odyssey for under £400 which is where they should be priced and not up to or over three times that as they recommend.
