 Tarnish to the keys

Hey everyone,

I have an older Fox 330 that was made sometime in 1989, and it has some pretty bad tarnish on the keys and has looked this way since I got it back in 2004. I've kept it polished but it looks pretty bad still.

What could have caused this?
