Wait... Making the bore smaller will flatten the pitch, not sharpen. Reaming the bore to be bigger will make it sharper.
For all intensive purposes however, tuning an instrument is far more complicated than just "bigger bore, smaller bore." There's acoustical nodes that are related from top to bottom that I dare not venture into because it involves math and science and smart stuff that I am not capable of...
