I agree that the seasons definitely make a difference though I have personally found the opposite to be true, the transitory periods of weather produce reeds that die quickly. I also live in Minnesota where the winters are long and the autumn and springs are unpredictable. I find that the differences in how the reeds need to be made require re-adjustment depending on the season as well.
