Well, I use a small trimmed bird feather to scrub the interior of my good reeds, holding them in water before I crow or play them. One can see the debris that comes off into the water glass. It is not convenient to do this right after a rehearsal, however, for me.
In addition, I don't expose my reeds to the air in the room any more than absolutely necessary to take one out of the reed case or put it back in the reed case. The reed case is fairly sealed and this avoids reeds absorbing moisture from the air if the humidity is high or drying out too much if it is very low. One can dry reeds when the humidity is high with exposure of them to an incandescent lamp for a few minutes.
