We all just need to get better at composing all of our own music, I guess.
I sometimes wonder if the music theory that shows up in training of classical musicians just manages to intimidate us out of the possibility of writing our own music to play for the groups that we are in. Jazz and rock musicians don't have this problem.
(For what it's worth, I've been thinking for years about composing for the chamber groups I play in, but so far--not a single page!)
