I recently bought reeds that have been handmade by an oboe teacher and I have found that they are too hard for me to play on comfortably. Do reeds naturally get softer as I play on them more because I'm also finding that the reeds are still quite loud even when using minimal air pressure. My intonation starts to become shaky after G5 and it has become extremely difficult to produce a vibrato because of this.
Is there a way to fix this problem like softening the reeds?
