It's an interesting subject. I find it difficult to evaluate staples because there are many factors in making a reed and I don't know why consistancy between staples is important. It seems like a good idea to minimize variables, but I don't understand it well. Also, is there a brand of staple that promotes reed stabilitiy more than other brands? Do large or small staple openings result in more stable reeds? Reed stability is a big concern to me.
The Loree staples I bought a few years back have very small openings on the cane side but the reeds made with them seem as good as those made with much larger openings. Any comments would be appreciated.
