Anything to do with the LH feather keys are best dealt with someone who knows what they're doing - definitely something the average repairer who only sees an oboe once in a blue moon shouldn't tackle due to the complexity of it. Although the workings are relatively simple, getting it to work well can be a challenge. It doesn't take much to put this part of the instrument out of action.
Just out of curiosity - when you lie your oboe down, which side do you lie it on? Do you lie it down on the feather keys side or on the RH C/C#/Eb cluster (kidney keys) side? A lot of oboes get the low B and Bb put out of regulation as well as bent feather keys due to being laid down on the feather keys side. You're best lying them down on the kidney keys side as there's less to get damaged there - kidney keys are easier to straighten out in comparison to straightening out feather keys.
