 York Bowen oboe sonata

I have a query concerning a note in the 1st movement of the York Bowen oboe sonata and wondered if someone could help.

In the Chester edition, the bar before the figure one has as its last two quavers C# and Bb.

When the theme reoccurs, 7 bars after figure seven, these same two quavers are C natural and Bb.

The piano part is identical for both bars with a C natural on the first beat of the bar (so the beat before these two quavers).

However, the bar after this bar is different the second time round and I did wonder if the C#/C natural is supposed to prepare for the next note but the C# sounds wrong to me.

(If you have a different edition, the first occurrence is in the first 2/4 bar).
