 American cane?
Author: ptarmiganfeather

I am wondering whether or not there is an American source for oboe cane.

While reading the paper this past weekend there was a story about a giant cane plant that is being listed as an invasive species in three states. It turned out to be the same plant used for reeds. Right at the end of the article there was a very small sentence that the cane featured in the story was used for woodwind reed manufacturing.

So, is there a source for this US grown cane? This is fascinating to me. I am just curious. Thanks in advance.
